Karma Dancing With Shadows

This corner of the world is mine where I come to write, claim my independence, feel, think and write what's on my mind in the hopes that sharing experiences of being the daughter of a Narcissist can help others who are dealing with and overcoming the obstacles to regaining true emotional freedom.

Anutha good one gone...

Buddy Miles, the drummer in Jimi Hendrix’s Band of Gypsys and a hitmaker under his own name with the song “Them Changes,” died at his home in Austin Texas of congestive heart failure. He was 60. With his trademark "girth" and luxuriant Afro peeking from out from his black derby and American-flag shirts, has there ever been a more "funkier mofo" than Buddy Miles?  Playin' with Hendrix. Santana. Neil Young, Paul Butterfield, Wilson Picket and Funkadelic with an attack, deeply brisk, deeply assertive, deeply funky. A prime mover of the psychedelic blues-rock music of the 60's and 70's... Yet, Buddy got NO RESPECT He was hated by many white Hendrix fans, simply because he was a part of the legendary "Band of Gypsy's". They couldn't ever seem to get past the fact that Jimi Hendrix admired Buddy Miles as a friend and as an artist. But that's ok because he kept my head bobbin', my fingers poppin' to his nasty funky beat while I cut a slide from left to right in my bell bottom windowpane jeans like I was the smoovist chick on the Soul Train line. You'll be sadly missed...

Dancing with Shadows

My photo
a mix of 'tude...fortitude, solitude and attitude. I have an unhealthy addiction to intelligent, free-thinkers, red vine licorice, vitamin water, raw carrots and sitting on my back porch with a good book becoming one with nature
